Hi all! Life is crazy, this planet is weird and we are all unhinged little gremlins stuck here trying to make sense of it all (at least most of us are- I’m assuming everyone who is a part of this blog is, let’s be real).

As part of this gremlin’s attempt to spread information on how to help each other and genuinely build community, I wanted to start putting out a weekly blog post listing out ways we can help. PLEASE feel free to text me, email me, passenger pigeon me, or Grindr DM me any information that you’re aware of. Topics include:

• Mutual Aid Requests- signal boosting these in any way possible (as well as donating money, obvs) is an easy way to bypass traditional “charitable” organizations that eat a ton in administrative overhead. I may also include traditional donation opportunities if it’s with an organization that isn’t questionable (i.e. does sketchy shit).
• Volunteering Opportunities- If donating money isn’t an option, donating time is just as valuable.
• Organizing Opportunities- This includes any information about protests, strikes, rallies, marches, etc. I may communicate via other channels depending on the circumstances.
• Political Awareness and Activism- If there are upcoming policies which may either harm or help, I’ll post them here. This includes information about campaigns to help spread awareness, including door knocking, phone banks, mailing campaigns, etc. This also includes information on how to connect with your elected officials to voice concerns or support

Again- I am baby, and creating this blog is brand new to me. Please don’t hesitate to share any feedback with me on effective methods to share this information, or if any of the organizations/campaigns I mention here are in fact, questionable.

Mutual Aid Request- Support Trans POC’s Top Surgery Now

Detailed Information here. TL;DR- let’s raise funds to support top surgery for a wonderful member of the Seattle trans community.

Volunteer and Political Activism Opportunity- Seattle
(Prop 1A Campaign with House our Neighbors)

Campaign website here. Sign up for door knocking shifts, phone bank shifts, and other outreach events here. TL;DR- Seattle has an upcoming ballot initiative securing a tax on businesses with over 1 million annually in payroll to help fund social housing in the city. More information on the proposed tax here. An initiative won the vote in 2023 to create a social housing developer, this initiative is to help fund it.

Volunteer Opportunity- Reno
(Good Neighbors Warming Centers)

Detailed Information here. Sign up for warming center shifts here. TL;DR- partnering with R.I.S.E. and local Reno churches, help staff overnight warming centers for our unhoused neighbors during this very cold time of year.
